Kagaribi 3 was aSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatemajor held in Tokyo,Kantō on March 27th, 2021. The first successor toKagaribi, it was held in place of Kagaribi 1.5 and Kagaribi 2, both of which were cancelled due to aCOVID-19 surge leading to a state of emergency.^[1][2] Kagaribi 3 was announced on February 19th, and confirmed on March 7th.^[3][4]

Despite the event's size, it not only featured many of Japan's best players from the early metagame, such asZackray,Tea, andKameme, but also featured players who were on the rise during the pandemic, such asAkakikusu and andHero. As such, the event became the firstUltimate major sinceFrostbite 2020, as well as the only offline major to take place during the pandemic metagame.
