DELTA 11 was aSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatesupermajor held in Minato-ku,Tokyo on June 28th, 2025.

Tournament summary[edit]

LikeSumabato SP 59 last week, although the event featured 3 top 10 players inMiya,Shuton andAsimo, a lot of attention was focused onHurt, who had the opportunity to reach 1st place for the mid-year season which ends the week after, despite his 2 month ban from April to June. As a result of his great return to form (winningMaesuma'LANDMARK 6 and placing 2nd at Sumabato SP 59 with two top 10 wins), Hurt was seed 2 of this tournament. However, he lost a close game 5 set to #31 seedChon (upset factor 8) in his fourth set. In loser's, he met #12 seedShion, who was upset earlier by #140 seedLando Bokumetsutai (UF 8). In a tense game 5, Hurt had a good lead before he was killed at 49% by aThwack. UsingAcceleratle's mobility to maneuver aroundSnake'sgrenades, Shion managed to take Hurt's final stock with aSnooze Forward Smash conversion. Hurt was eliminated at 33rd, his worst performance sinceSeibugeki 17 almost a year ago. This underperformance clearly ended any chance of Hurt being number 1 despite his win atGenesis X2 in February, with Doramigi being the most consistent player this season, and acola winning the most stacked Ultimate tournament of all time inKagaribi 13.

However, several other upsets of similar strength happened during the event : #61 seedIshipon sent #4 seed Asimo to loser's, as well as #276 seedResN@o against #20 seedLunamado and #273 seedGuren against #17 seedGorioka, all in 2-1 and all being UF 8. However, both Asimo and Gorioka made long loser's run. Asimo defeated 6 players (most notably #18 seedKurofune 3-2) in a row before losing to #5 seedTamaPDaifuku 1-3 to finish at 9th, whereas Gorioka defeated 11 players, most notably Lando Bokumetsutai 3-2, #30 seedDieGorou 3-2 and Chon 3-1 to make top 8. He was then upset against, this time by #35 seedtameigo in a close game 5 set, to place 7th. Similarly, #10 seedYaura was upset very early by #119 seedLiiMac 1-2 (UF 7) before going on a 9 set loser's run, notably defeating #23 seedSin 2-1, ResN@o 3-1, #14 seedM0tsunabE 3-2 and #9 seedTea to enter top 8 loser side, where he lost 3-1 to TamaPDaifuku for 7th. In total, half of the top 8 seeds made into top 8 : TamaPDaifuku through loser side, and #1 seedMiya, #3 seedShuton and #7 seedKEN through winner side. Outside of Hurt and Asimo, #8 seedAkakikusu fell at 17th, losing to Tea 2-3 and Tameigo 1-3 (UF 5), who also eliminated #6 seedRarikkusu at 9th 3-0 (UF 6) to make top 8. Outside of top 8 seeds, #11 seedReno also severely underperformed, going 2-2, losing to #54 seedLea (UF 54) and #43 seedSumaho (UF 4), all in 0-2. Lastly, while Shion was able to upset Hurt, he was eliminated at 25th the set after, losing to #15 seedToriguri 1-3.

BothMild na H.O and tameigo made their best performance at this event. #13 seed Mild na H.O made top 8 winner side after upsetting TamaPDaifuku 3-0 (UF 3) but lost back-to-back sets to Miya and tameigo (UF 3), both in 3-1, placing 5th at a supermajor, one of the best runs for aDonkey Kong main. tameigo, after being sent to loser's by #94 seedZariq in his second set, went on a grueling loser's run, defeating #55 seedLax 3-1, #19 seedRyopei 3-2, Akakikusu 3-1, #16 seedUame 3-1 (UF 3), Rarikkusu 3-0, Gorioka 3-2, Mild na H.O 3-1 before being eliminated by TamaPDaifuku 1-3 at 4th place. Another notable upset in top 8 is KEN's win over Shuton in winner's semifinals 3-2 (UF 3), the first time theSonic main defeated him at a ranked event sinceWAVE Champions 5 in October 2023, after a 8 sets loss streak. He placed 3rd, losing to Miya 2-3 and TamaPDaifuku 1-3, KEN's best performance since his 7th place finish atKagaribi 12, in May 2024. TamaPDaifuku met Miya in grand finals through loser's side, but Miya won the tournament in a 3-1 fashion, his 3rdDELTA win in a row, without losing a set.
