Collision 2025 was aSuper Smash Bros. Meleesupermajor andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate superregional held in Secaucus,New Jersey from August 22nd-24th, 2025. This iteration took place at a new venue from previous Collision events, which was one of the reasons for the event being held in August instead of March.^[1]

Super Smash Bros. Melee[edit]

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

Though theUltimate singles event was initially tiered as an A tier on theLumiRank 2025 TTS, the event ultimately fell below this threshold due to several top player dropouts, making this the first Collision event whereUltimate was not a major. FinallyRJ claimed the lower attendance and size was also due to LumiRank releasing the tiering for the event too early, which greatly derailed their sign-up momentum and prevented any chance for the event to reach S tier.^[2]

Despite being the second seed of the event,Light failed to make top 8, being eliminated by twoSteve players, #10 seedJust Blue in Winners 1-3 and #17 seedFhantum in Losers 1-3, for an upset factor of 5 and 7, respectively. Three other top 8 seeds also failed to make top 8: #4 seedcrêpe salée lost to #14 seedPharaoh 1-3 before being eliminated byDabuz 2-3 for 9th; #5 seedomega lost to #20 seedChar 1-3 (upset factor 4) before being eliminated by crêpe salée 1-3 for 13th; and #7 seedJakal lost to #26 seedDJDon 0-3 (upset factor 4) before being eliminated by #18 seedTeaser 0-3.

Conversely, Pharaoh had an impressive run at the event, defeating #1 seedZomba 3-0 (upset factor 7) in Winners Semi-Finals before falling to #3 seedBeastModePaul 0-3 and Zomba in the runback 0-3 to place 3rd. In Grand Finals, Zomba was able to take the event, defeating BeastModePaul in two game 5 sets. Nevertheless, as the highest placing player who did not already register for the event, BeastModePaul received free entry toPort Priority 9.

Aftermath[edit]

In a wrap-up statement, head organizerFinallyRJ revealed that the event was ran at a loss and did not break even as a result of issues that took place prior to the event, and that he had to take out a $40,000 loan in order to cover staff and venue costs.^[2]
