Tapu Koko (カプ・コケコ,Kapu-Kokeko) is a creature from thePokémon franchise.
Origin[edit]
Tapu Koko is an Electric/Fairy-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VII, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #785 as the "Land Spirit Pokémon". It is the Guardian Deity of Melemele Island in Alola, and is featured prominently in the story ofPokémon Sun and Moon andPokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
Its attack resemblesDischarge andElectric Terrain.

As aPoké Ball Pokémon[edit]
Tapu Koko appears as aPoké Ball Pokémon. When summoned, it uses Discharge and Electric Terrain and unleashes a large net of electricity around itself, dealing multiple hits to opponents. It also periodically shoots out beams of electricity in the cardinal and intermediate directions.
On most stages, Tapu Koko has a spawn chance of12/1463 from Poké Balls and32/842 from Master Balls. It has a modified spawn weight on the following stages (actual chances may vary based on changes to other Pokémon):
- Master Balls 32 → 40:3D Land,75m,Kalos Pokémon League,Prism Tower,The Great Cave Offensive,Tomodachi Life,Unova Pokémon League, andWrecking Crew.
- Master Balls 32 → 60:Pokémon Stadium 2.
Tapu Koko can be summoned on all stages in a standard versus match.
Spirit[edit]
Tapu Koko also appears as an Ace-classprimary spirit. InAdventure Mode: World of Light, its spirit appears in the island area ofThe Light Realm.
Tapu Koko's Spirit Battle uses aPikachu Libre puppet fighter and is fought onTemple'sBattlefield form. Pikachu's electric attacks have increased strength, and the floor is electrified, referencing Tapu Koko's Electric type. Pikachu also starts with a Poké Ball containing Tapu Koko.
