Starter stage

Astarter stage is astage that is available forVersus Mode play immediately after turning the game on for the first time; the player does not have to unlock that stage in order for it to be selectable.

Incompetitive play, the term also refers toneutral stages, or stages that can be chosen in the first game of a match. This is in contrast tocounterpick stages that can only be chosen in games 2 and 3. For more information on this, see theStage legality andTournament legal articles.

The following stages appear as starter stages:

Super Smash Bros.[edit]

All stages are available from the start with the sole exception ofMushroom Kingdom.
