Tweek is aSmasher from Burlington, New Jersey, known for being one of the greatest players across two differentSmash titles.
Tweek's competitive career began inSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U, where he initially playedBowser Jr. He was considered the greatest Bowser Jr. player of all time, pioneering the character's metagame and earning results that no other Bowser Jr. players were able to replicate. He eventually dropped Bowser Jr. forCloud and later picked upBayonetta, while maintaining aDonkey Kong secondary throughout his career; he is considered one of the greatest Cloud, Bayonetta, and Donkey Kong players of all time, and especially won several majors with the former two characters, including2GGC: MkLeo Saga and2GG: Hyrule Saga. HisSmash 4 career peaked in the game's final year, where he was considered the second-best player in the world, after his longtime rivalMkLeo. Ultimately, he was ranked 7th on thePGR 100.
InSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, he was initially aWario player, but frequently cycled between several characters, includingWolf,Pokémon Trainer, andJoker, while also maintainingRoy andYoung Link as prominent secondaries. He was considered the second-best player in the early metagame, most notably winningFrostbite 2019 andGet On My Level 2019, as well as one of the greatest Wario and Pokémon Trainer players of all time, becoming the first to win majors with both characters. He eventually dropped all of his early metagame characters forDiddy Kong in the post-pandemic metagame, while also picking upSephiroth as a secondary. He is considered the greatest Diddy Kong player of all time, pioneering the character's metagame and contributing to his rise in the post-pandemic metagame, and is the only Diddy Kong player to win majors, most notably winning several events in theLuminosity Makes Moves series. In addition, he is known as one of the best Sephiroth players and often uses Sephiroth in matchups that do not favor Diddy Kong. Due to his long-term success inUltimate, having won at least one major per year between 2018 and 2024 and having the longest tenure in the top 10, he is considered one of the greatestUltimate players of all time.
Tweek is well-known for being very methodical and technical across allSmash titles, with a playstyle that emphasizes punishes. This style allows Tweek to quickly rack up damage or even KO off reads, which in turn lessens his reliance on having to react to options, making him an extremely consistent player who is rarely upset by players seeded much lower than him, also allowing Tweek to surmount significant comebacks if he originally takes a deficit. Tweek is also known for his fundamentals as a player; although moreso forUltimate, he has shown an ability to quickly pick up and master a character for tournament use.
Using Cloud, Tweek was infamous for refusing to useLimit on the first stock to preserve the movement and recovery buff and also potentially land an early KO on his opponent's second stock. His switch to Bayonetta inSmash 4 saw an increase in consistency to his results, as Bayonetta'sWitch Twist is a strong, safe combo starter, allowing Tweek more freedom when playing neutral.
Throughout much ofUltimate's history, Tweek has shown great skill with a diverse range of the game's cast, being able to quickly master different characters, and has been able to take games off of top players with over seven different characters. This is perhaps best exemplified by his run to Grand Finals atEVO 2019 with Pokémon Trainer after only maining them for a couple of months. However, this same talent also led to an inability to stay with a set character. Until finding his footing with Diddy Kong, Tweek had been known to periodically switch mains and counterpick his opponents with varying results, where at times, it can be argued that if he consistently stuck with a single character, he could have found better success.
With Diddy Kong, Tweek maintains an extremely technical and execution-heavy playstyle, which relies on an overall patient gameplan, waiting for his opponent to make mistakes before unleashing an explosive punish game. He is arguably best-known for his incredible creativity and highly technical setups withBanana Peel in all aspects of the game, whether it be ledge-trapping, edge-guarding, combos, or disadvantage, and has pioneered Diddy Kong's metagame across all fronts.
