Marcus is aNew Jersey Smasher, considered one of the best players in New Jersey across two differentSmash titles.

Marcus first competed inSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U under the tagThe Great Gonzales, playingNess, and initially established himself with several notable performances in the Tristate area, including defeatingScAtt atKTAR XIX and placing 9th atApex 2016. His breakout event took place atRoyal Flush, where he defeatedMr. E,Pink Fresh, andWaDi to place 5th, his first major top 8 of his career. Since then, he has placed well at a variety of other majors, picked upDiddy Kong towards the end of the game's competitive lifepan, and defeatedLima atFrostbite 2018. In addition, Marcus is known for winning the post-UltimateSmash 4 event atSupernova 2024 with solo-Ness, the event becoming the largestSmash event won by a Ness player in anySmash game.

Marcus achieved greater recognition inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate's early metagame, where he initially playedSimon andRichter before swapping toPalutena a month later. His greatest tournament run took place atSmash 'N' Splash 5, where he placed 13th after upsettingTweek, achieving one of the largest upsets in the early metagame, and defeatingGackt and ScAtt. Alongside several other strong performances, such as placing 3rd atScarlet Classic V after defeatingSuarez, Marcus was ranked 43rd on theSpring 2019 PGRU. Since then, he has rarely traveled outside his region to compete and has switched toMr. Game & Watch.
