Pugwest was aMarcina player fromRhode Island, that mainedMarth inBrawl andSmash 4, while mainingLucina inUltimate. InSmash 4, he was considered one of the best Marth players in theUnited States, alongsideMr E andFalse, with him once being ranked 39th in the world onPGR v2, while he would get ranked 91st all-time on thePGR 100. He was additionally one ofNew England's bestSmash 4 players, with him being ranked 4th on the finalNew England Smash 4 Power Rankings. Pugwest was also known for his prowess in doubles; when he used to team with his brotherMarss, the pair dominated doubles events at New England tournaments, being dubbed "Team Yazi: the Doubles Kings of New England", while getting very high placements at majors too, including getting 5th in doubles atGENESIS 3 andCEO 2016. His best doubles performance, however, came when he teamed withLight and placed 2nd out of 128 teams atThe Big House 7.
InUltimate, Pugwest remained a force in New England and competed for being Rhode Island's best player in the pre-COVID era, being ranked no worse than 13th on every New England Power Ranking and being ranked top two on each of theRhode Island Power Rankings in this era, including once getting ranked 1st on the Spring 2019 iteration. His presence on the national stage diminished however, with him never placing higher than 49th at any majors before his retirement, so he was never ranked globally inUltimate.

Sexual misconduct allegations[edit]
On July 2nd, 2020, a player known as Corrin published a Twitlonger about her relationship with Pugwest when she was only 16 years old and he was 25. According to Corrin, she had gotten into contact with Pugwest during a time of emotional turmoil. Their conversations, which she took screenshots of and included in the statement, eventually turned extremely sexual after Corrin shared pictures of herself.[1] Pugwest would later respond to this statement, claiming that Corrin told him she was 18, but confirmed that the conversations revealed in Corrin's statement did happen.[2] Due to his confirmation of the events, Pugwest's sponsor, NEST Gaming, immediately dropped him from the team.[3]
