Ned is aSuper Smash Bros. UltimateSephiroth andCloud player from Illinois with aPokémon Trainer secondary. Ned was considered the best Sephiroth player in 2021 and was one of the best Pokémon Trainer players in the world in the early metagame. Ned is currently ranked 19th on theWi-Fi Warrior Rank v7, 37th on theUltRank 2022, and 35th on theOrionRank 2022; he was also formerly ranked 1st on theChicago Ultimate Power Rankings. Ned first mained Pokémon Trainer, taking sets off of top players such asMarss,Nairo,ESAM, andkameme. However, after quarantine he started to place more focus on Sephiroth, taking sets off of top players such asOnin,Elegant,MuteAce, andsisqui. Ned has since returned to Pokémon Trainer as a co-main to complement his Sephiroth.
InSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U, Ned was aCloud player with a strongZero Suit Samussecondary, and is considered one of the best Cloud players in the world afterMkLeo,Tweek, andkomorikiri, and was previously considered one of the best Zero Suit Samus mains in the world. Ned is currently ranked 2nd on theChicago Smash 4 Power Rankings, 3rd on theMidwest Smash 4 Power Rankings, and 50th on thePanda Global Rankings 100. He has taken sets off of top players such asZeRo,Larry Lurr,VoiD,Ally,CaptainZack,MVD,Zinoto, andFatality.

- Ned's tag is derived from his initials:NicholasEugeneDovel.
- Ned is sometimes humorously referred to as "Black Nairo" due to him andNairo sharing a somewhat similar appearance. Ironically, both Ned and Nairo used the black colouralternate costume of Zero Suit Samus in tournaments.
