Marc, once briefly known asPerfect Vegetto, is aPeach main and formerSheik,Falco, andGanondorf main from Den Haag, The Netherlands. He has been going to tournaments since the first tournament held in the Netherlands,Dutch Tournament 1 (November 2nd, 2002). He is one of the last two smashers who are still active since that day, the other one being his training partner and Avalon co-hostRemen.
As one of the earliest and most influential members of the Dutch and EuropeanSmash scene, Marc has done a lot of work to improve competitive play in these regions, including pushing for turning items off, which happened for the first time atDT9, pushing for banning disruptive and other nonviable stages, helping to start theDutch Power Rankings, organizing the creation of thePAL tier list, and together with Remen hosting various tournaments such as HK 1-8 and Avalon I-III, which saw attendance from such players asArmada,Ice andLeffen. Before this he was involved with the SmashNL hosting staff and a co-host at several large events. Overall he is seen as one of the most important and most respected members of the DutchSmash community.
Marc has been one of the better Dutch players for a long time now. One of his more impressive showings occurred atDT8, where he beat reigning championThe_Doug twice, who is an American living in the UK at the time. In the past 3 years, he has never fallen short of single digit placings at European events. He continued this trend in several US tournaments, the one exception being APEX 2014, where he got 49th. Marc is currently ranked 8th on theDutchMelee Power Rankings.
