K9sbruce (almost always referred to asK9) is a Smasher fromArizona. His competitive career began inSuper Smash Bros. Brawl, but he was best known for his competitive career inSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U; he resided inSoCal for most of the game's era, and playedSheik andDiddy Kong. He was considered one of the bestSmash 4 players from SoCal, ranking 7th on theirall-time power ranking. His best performances took place in the early years of the competitive metagame, when he placed among the top 8 at several SoCal superregionals, most notably placing 3rd at2GGT: ESAM Saga. He also achieved his only major top 8 during this time, placing 7th atShots Fired 2, though he has since placed close to the top 8 at several other majors, including2GGT: Abadango Saga andGENESIS 5. Due to his success, he was ranked on thePGR several times, peaking at 27th on thePGR v1, and finished hisSmash 4 career at 62nd on thePGR 100.
Prior to hisSmash 4 career, K9sbruce playedMeta Knight andFalco inBrawl andMeta Knight inProject M, ranking 82nd on theSSBBRank 2014 for the former game. In addition, he competed inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, playingWolf in the early metagame; he was ranked in SoCal during this time and was able to defeatSalem andyeti atGENESIS 6. He eventually switched toDiddy Kong in the post-pandemic metagame, though by then, he was not as active nationally as he was before.

Trivia[edit]
- K9bruce is known for his catchphrase "I will be the king of Smash", which he often shouts after winning a set.
- K9sbruce isinfamous for his frequent outbursts whenever he loses (or wins) a match or the entire set, a trait that he got fromKiraFlax. His most infamous outburst involved himrunning out of the room in anger; this has since become a recurring meme in the community. Later on his competitive career, he had expressed his intentions to stop reacting so angrily to losses, and his outbursts have been far less intense and frequent since then.
