Cody Schwab, formerly known asiBDW and often referred to as justCody, is aSuper Smash Bros. Melee player from Queens,New York who is considered one of the greatestFox players of all time and the best in the post-Slippi era. His competitive career began in 2015, and he was first ranked on theSSBMRank in 2017 before entering the top 10 for theMPGR 2019 season. He then improved greatly in the Slippi era thanks to exceptionally strong performances online, before claiming his first ever major tournament win atRiptide and his first supermajor win a few months later atSmash Summit 12. Since then, he has been considered one of the best players in the post-Slippi era, and was the best in 2023, after winninga first-to-10 match between him andZain, and in the first half of 2025. In doubles, Cody regularly teams withJmook, and they are considered the best doubles team in the post-Slippi era, as well as one of the greatest doubles teams of all time.

Despite his skill, Cody infamously had little luck securing a sponsor afterPanda's collapse, though he was temporarily sponsored by several organizations such asEggdog Esports and Nestlé's Canadian chocolate bar Coffee Crisp. He was eventually signed byNouns Esports on March 1st, 2024, alongsideAklo. On December 19th, 2024, it was announced that Nouns would part ways with Cody on December 31st due to a shift of focus within the company.[1]

  • When he was younger, his Xbox tag was "iBDoiNWorK", which he then shortened to iBDW upon coming into the competitiveSmash scene. He confirmed that it did not stand for anything, and he usually preferred for people to refer to him by his name, Cody. He officially changed his tag to his real name, Cody Schwab, followingGENESIS 9.
  • Cody Schwab is colorblind, being a protanope (absence of red retinal photoreceptors, making him unable to see red and several shades of other colors).
    • Despite having trouble distinguishing between green and red Fox, Cody mains green Fox instead of white or blue (either color would guarantee he can distinguish himself from his opponent in Fox dittos).
  • Cody Schwab has defeated all of the2019 MPGR top 8 in offline sets, defeatingMango,aMSa, andHungrybox atSmash Summit 8;Leffen atShine 2019;Wizzrobe atSmash Summit 9;Axe atSmash Summit 11;Plup atRiptide; andZain atSmash Summit 12.
