TheSSBMRank 2023 lists the world's top 100Super Smash Bros. Melee players in 2023 as compiled byMelee Stats. The rankings were announced in a series of articles published bystart.gg from January 15th-26th, 2024.

For the first time inSmash history, the #1 player was not decided by the panelists, but instead was decided by aspecial exhibition betweenZain andCody Schwab, with Cody ultimately winning.

Methodology[edit]

29 people, such as top players, tournament organizers, writers, and analysts were chosen to be panelists for this edition ofSSBMRank. The panelists were asked to rank each ballot-eligible player based on their quality of results from December 19th, 2022 to December 17th, 2023 with a value between 1 and 120, and then each player’s rating was aggregated to a single value based on their distribution of votes.
