TheSR button refers to the right shoulder button on both individualJoy-Con when they are detached from theNintendo Switch. Like theSL button, it matches the color of the Joy-Con. The wrist strap that comes with the Joy-Con can be attached to make the button easier to press.

Overview[edit]

When using dual Joy-Con, it serves no purpose and is completely inaccessible when the Switch is in Handheld mode. When using a single Joy-Con, it serves as a substitute for theR button, acting as a shoulder trigger. InUltimate, it is used forshielding, much like how the R button is used for shielding inSuper Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.
