Primid
APrimid (プリム,Prim), is an enemy introduced inSuper Smash Bros. Brawl'sSubspace Emissary.
Description[edit]
Primids are the common soldiers of theSubspace Army. They have dark-purple heads and ball-jointed limbs, brown gloves and boots, a green body with a red Subspace Army emblem, and a green hat with a thin, red leaf sticking out of it. They can have many differentfaces.
First appearing atMidair Stadium, they appear as the most frequently encountered enemies in The Subspace Emissary. The Primids attack with a multitude of attacks involving their fists, feet, and body. The Primids also have the ability to jump to other platforms and areas. Primids are a generally low threat enemy as they are rather weak with below average attack power and relatively low health, meaning that they can often be defeated by one or two well-placed attacks even on Intense difficulty. They are also highly susceptible to taking knockback and are vulnerable to grabs. On the flipside, they primarily appear in large numbers, possess high mobility, and utilise a larger moveset than most SSE enemies, which results in them being rather versatile. The Primids also appear in many different variations to suit different tasks. Each type of Primid has its own trophy, which can be collected with atrophy stand.
InSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, Primids are not enemies in-game, but doappear asspirits.
Moveset[edit]
- Notes: The "d" below is a multiplier based on thedifficulty value. Final damage is rounded down to the nearest whole number. The move names are fan-made in the absence of an official source.
| Name | Damage | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Triple Combo | 4 + 2.0d (punch) 5 + 2.1d (kick) 6 + 2.2d (push) | Similar toMario'sjab combo, a Primid will punch, kick, and then follow up with a push, with each hit coming out rather slowly. The startup on the push is long enough that it can always be shielded or even walked away from. The first two hits deal low fixedknockback, while the third hit deals moderately strong enough knockback to KO at very high percentages. |
| Smash Punch | 12 + 2.5d | Effectively, a Primid's smash attack. This move involves the Primid winding up and launching a powerful punch with strong knockback, the strongest of the Primid's attacks. However, the wind up sequence is long, resulting in very slow start-up lag. This, combined with its short reach, makes it relatively easy to avoid. Despite its looks, it does not do fire damage. It deals an additional 15% damage toshields. |
| Rapid Punch | 1 + 0.3d | Gets into aboxing stance before performing arapid jab. Always fires 11 punches even if no target is in range, so a player can attack from behind once it's started. While it deals barely any knockback, it can rack up damage very quickly, especially on higher difficulties. The timing between hits gives enough time to put up a shield or briefly move. The ability to move along with anSDI multiplier of 3× makes it fairly easy to escape the attack. |
| Acrobatic Stomp | 10 + 2.1d | If a player is knocked down in the floor, the Primid will jump and attempt to stomp them, causing decent damage and knockback. The Primid then flips backwards and makes a pose as if accepting the cheers of an audience, even if the attack missed. |
| Spear Jump | 8 + 2.2d (initial jump) 6 + 2.0d (spin) | Crouches down for a second and launch themselves upwards while spinning, damaging characters with light knockback that are in the way. They can jump at a slight angle in the player's general direction instead of just straight up. |
| Foot Plant | 6 + 2.2d | One of a Primid's two aerial attacks, involving a stomp similar to other characters'down airs. It cannotmeteor smash but instead deals respectable knockback with aSakurai angle. |
| Front Kick | 4 + 2.0d | The other aerial attack, a forwards kick that deals fixed knockback with a Sakurai angle. |
| Faceplant | 6 + 2.4d | Similar toKing Dedede's dash attack, the Primid trips and slides forwards, with average knockback. Deals 8%shield damage. |
| Careening | 12 - 0.5d | — |
Variations[edit]
- Big Primid: A larger-sized Primid that functions similarly to its smaller counterpart, as if using aSuper Mushroom. A Big Primid can take much moredamage than the average Primid and can also deal more damage as well; however, it is notably slower and larger target than a normal Primid.
- Boom Primid: A Primid that is equipped with aboomerang. It attacks both long-range and close up.
- Fire Primid: A Primid that is red in color. Itsattacks are all fire-based and it heavily resistsflame attacks itself.
- Metal Primid: A type of Primid whose whole body is encased in metal as if using aMetal Box. Functioning similar to the basic Primid, it can also sustain more damage than a normal Primid while possessingknockback andflinch resistance. Additionally, it is capable ofreflecting certain projectiles.
- Sword Primid: A Primid that is equipped with a sword similar to theBeam Sword. Its attacks possess greaterrange and power as a result. It can reflect projectiles by swinging its sword.
- Scope Primid: A Primid that is equipped with a weapon similar to theSuper Scope. It can be found on higher areas or longer distance and fireprojectiles from itsweapon. It poses a larger threat toplayers when they're fighting melee-attacking enemies at the same time.

Trophy[edit]
- Primid
The common soldier of the Subspace Army. It seems pretty harmless, but alas, it's stuffed withShadow Bugs that leak from its forms. This Primid has no weapons--it will challenge you man-to-man. There are six different Primid types, but all of them are based on this basic form. There are also several different face types.

Faces[edit]
There are many different faces that a Primid can have. The faces change each time Adventure Mode is loaded up. The three Primids in the display room of theBattleship Halberd Exterior always have the same faces, two of them are different, but the color from two of them is yellow instead of the colors used in the game. The one in the top left of the image also has a black variant, but other than the eye color, it's the exact same.
