Origin[edit]
MegaMan.EXE is a character from theMega Man Battle Network series of games, an alternate continuity to the "classic"Mega Man games. In this universe, scientist Tadashi Hikari created several breakthroughs in computer science, leading to a society fully integrated with the internet. Tadashi's grandson, Lan Hikari, now lives with the fruits of this labor. This includes a personal NetNavi — a program companion with its own personality — named MegaMan. While attending middle school, Lan and MegaMan bust Viruses across the internet and come into conflict with cyber crime syndicates such as WWW. Through these adventures, it is eventually revealed that MegaMan is actually Lan's twin brother Hub. His soul was uploaded into cyberspace by their father, Yuichiro Hikari, after Hub contracted a terminal illness known as HBD and died shortly after birth. Due to this spiritual connection, the two make an amazing team, seeing as they almost never lose a NetBattle. They have saved humanity on multiple occasions, defeating reckless criminal organizations, cryptic net beasts, and even extraterrestrial threats.

- In hisreveal teaser forUltimate, the battle is enacted similarly to his own series with him being on the left, enemy on the right, and neither of them crossing the line.
- During the battle, he uses theBeam Sword to do a large slash, which is a reference to Life Sword, a powerful attack MegaMan.EXE can use.
- MegaMan.EXE's spirit is the only spirit capable of unlocking the Base sub-dungeon's entrance that cannot be used to do so during an initial playthrough. It must be unlocked through an encounter in the Dark Realm, which can only be accessed after already unlocking Base's entrance.
