This stage is based on the nintendogs games. Check out the antics of the animals in the background—a total of 5 different puppies and a cat. Be careful not to get hit by the falling blocks while you're distracted by their cuteness!

Living Room[1] (子犬がいるリビング,Living Room with Puppy) is astage inSuper Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Stage overview[edit]

It takes place in a living room set in theNintendogs universe. The main arena starts totally plain, but some time later, building blocks will appear above the characters (if any characters are below them, they will be damaged). The building blocks stack up into various structures that can be stood on; some time later, they disappear, starting the cycle again[2]. A television is in the background, displaying an image of a Golden Labrador Retriever puppy wearing aMario Hat, and a kitten wearing aLuigi Hat. If a puppy or kitten approach the TV to watch it, images on said TV will begin changing. Once they walk away, it will reset to the puppy and kitten in the Mario and Luigi hats. Besides the blocks, other household objects can make random appearances on the stage, such as a high-heel or a toy mouse. Also in the background is a random puppy, ranging from a Beagle, a Toy Poodle, a Jack Russell, a Golden Retriever, a Shiba Inu, or maybe even a young Calico kitten. The order of appearance of these animals is random.

Ω forms and Battlefield form[edit]

InSuper Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, the main platform of theΩ form is made of building blocks that extends below theblast line into a bottomless pit. Objects do not fall from above, walk-offs are removed, but one of the dogs is still in the background.

InSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Ω form andBattlefield form are similar toSSB4's Ω form; however, the main platform does not extend below the blast line and is resized and reshaped to matchFinal Destination andBattlefield, respectively. The threesoft platforms of the Battlefield form are flat, multicolored building blocks. The stage now floats above the stage's normal form instead of over a bottomless pit.

Hazards Off[edit]

With hazards off inUltimate, while blocks do still fall, they do not despawn.

Origin[edit]

The Country Home living room as it originally appeared inNintendogs + Cats.

Living Room is based on the "Country Home" fromnintendogs + cats for theNintendo 3DS. In the game, players are tasked with taking care of a variety of dogs and cats. While the owner does not appear in the stage, a variety of toys usable by the pets can be seen in the background; among these toys include a television set and ropes that the dogs and cats can sometimes play with. The television set itself is based on the Retro Tube TV and shows a variety of images featuring dogs and cats wearing hats based onMario,Luigi, andToad; all of these images are taken directly from the variousNintendogs games. Many of the platforms are also items inNintendogs, such as the gold bar and soft cube toy.

Trivia[edit]

  • If Kirby usesStone before the blocks fall down, he can stand inside them when he returns back to normal. This can also happen when a character sidesteps with perfect timing, in which case the blocks will disappear much more quickly.
    • When hazards are turned off inUltimate, the blocks won't despawn again, allowing players to camp inside blocks indefinitely.
  • There is a fireplace off-screen to the right, which can only be seen by manipulating the camera. InUltimate, the fire in the fireplace has no animations, presumably because it cannot usually be seen without pausing.
  • InUltimate, the wooden blocks visibly float a small distance above the ground in some layouts.
  • InUltimate, the followingAssist Trophies can only appear on the Battlefield and Omega forms of this stage:Metroid,Kapp'n, theSquid Sisters, andRathalos. TheMoon andDevil cannot be summoned on this stage at all. Additionally, the followingPoké Ball Pokémon can only be summoned on the stage's Battlefield and Omega forms:Abra,Lugia,Kyogre,Palkia,Giratina,Arceus,Kyurem,Xerneas andMarshadow.
  • Steve picks up wool blocks instead of dirt blocks on this stage.
