Article on Super Mario WikiKritter

Kritters (クリッター,Kritter) are crocodile enemies from theDonkey Kong series. They are the basic Kremling enemies working forKing K. Rool inDonkey Kong Country.

Origin[edit]

A blue Kritter inMario Super Sluggers.

Kritters are the basic enemies of the classicDonkey Kong Country games, with a role similar toMario'sGoombas. They damage the player on contact, and can be defeated by a jump, a rolling tackle, or a thrownbarrel. Green Kritters walk back and forth, while blue Kritters move around by jumping. Kritters have been playable in a variety ofDonkey Kong games, particularly the spin-off titles released in the 2000s. InDiddy Kong Racing, one of the playable characters is a Kritter named Krunch, one of two characters in the entire game (alongsideDiddy Kong) to be based on existingDonkey Kong lore (not countingDixie Kong and Tiny Kong, added in the DS remake to replace Conker andBanjo respectively). Unlike otherDonkey Kong villains, Kritters have had some appearances in theMario franchise - as spectators inMario Power Tennis, playable characters inMario Super Sluggers, and - perhaps most notably - non-playable goalies inSuper Mario Strikers andMario Strikers Charged.

InSuper Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]

Kritter appears inBrawl as twotrophies and twostickers.

An underling of King K. Rool and the one and only goalie of Super Mario Strikers. In other words, it doesn't matter what team you play as--your goalie is going to be Kritter. Despite being at the very bottom of the Kremling ranks, he's responsible for what many might consider to be the toughest AND most important field position.

InSmash Run[edit]

Two Kritters in Smash Run.

Green and blue Kritters appear as enemies. Both types walk around and turn at ledges, but will attack differently if they spot a player:

  • Green Kritters bite three times, and are able to turn around between each one.
  • Blue Kritters attack with a multi-hitting spinning tackle, which can also be performed while jumping.

The easy variant of theDefeat Them All! challenge contains two Kritters alongside other enemies. Both Kritter types are also part of the enemy waves in the generic version of theVs. Enemy Team final battle.

Trophy[edit]

The Kritter trophy appears in both versions of the game. InSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U, Kritter's trophy is unlocked by clearing a3-Minute Smash after getting at least 120 KOs.

Green ones will try to bite you repeatedly, and their last bite hurts the most! Blue ones will swipe at you with their sharp claws. Neither really knocks you back, so it's easy to get hit several times by them.
