Judd (ジャッジくん,Mr. Judd) is a character in theSplatoon universe.
Origin[edit]
Judd is a cat who serves as the judge of online matches in theSplatoon series by signifying which team won by holding up a flag. He is notable for being the only land mammal alive in theMollusc Era, and is revealed through variousSunken Scrolls to be over 10,000 years old, having survived the extinction of humanity thanks tohis owner sealing him in a cryogenic capsule and injecting him with an immortality drug. Upon awakening, Judd began judging theGreat Turf War and all subsequentTurf Wars.
InSplatoon 2,Li'l Judd was added to hold up the flag of the enemy team. It is revealed via Sunken Scroll that he was born from cloning technology included in Judd's capsule to prevent him from being alone. Various sources reveal that Li'l Judd seeks to usurp Judd's position as Turf War judge.

As a background character[edit]
Judd appears in the background ofMoray Towers, in which like in his home series he and Li'l Judd hold up flags based on who is currently winning. He and Li'l Judd dance when theSquid Sisters appear during the fight.
As a costume[edit]
Judd appears as the Judd Hat Headgear for theMii Fighter as part ofRound 11 ofUltimate.
In Judd's reveal trailer, the Mii representing Judd is shown jumping out of an oil drum onWrecking Crew, referencing the blue crate Judd is often found sleeping on. The Mii is then shown fightingIncineroar on theΩ form ofTortimer Island, and punching away a blueInkling while a green Inkling taunts on the Ω form ofThe Great Cave Offensive, referencing his role as the judge of Turf Wars. Finally, the Mii is shown lifting aSpecial Flag onMoray Towers, referencing the flags he uses.
