Gourmet Race (グルメレース,Gourmet Race) is a sub-world found inThe Light Realm withinAdventure Mode inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is located within the Floating Islands region in the northeast part of the map, which can be accessed through the Raging Volcano.
This sub-world is unique in that instead of battling spirits through a linear path, a minigame based on Gourmet Race fromKirby Super Star must be played where the player moves through 3 different paths without being able to turn around, trying to get the most food possible before reaching the end of the course. Collecting enough food rewards the player with spirits or the captured fighter of the sub-world, King Dedede. When the player's results is shown, the character performs their up taunt, when the player gets a new record, the character performs their down taunt.
The optimal path is indicated by a tone heard when collecting food; if all are collected in order, it forms the intro melody of the Gourmet Race song. The background music isGourmet Race (64).

The spirits found here are all from theKirby series. Spirits are ordered by the amount of food required to have them appear. Waddle Dee needs 3-6 pieces of food, and Chef Kawasaki needs 7-10 pieces of food.
