Giga Mac Rush (ギガ・マックラッシュ,Giga Mac Rush) isLittle Mac'sFinal Smash inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Overview[edit]

The move involves Little Mac transforming intoGiga Mac, immediately followed by a rush forward that, if successfully landed, leads to a series of rapid punches that traps and launches the opponent before the Final Smash ends, similar toJungle Rush,Donkey Kong's new Final Smash, albeit with slightly less knockback to compensate for the added range potential. TheUltimate version of Giga Mac joins all former "transformed moveset" Final Smashes (such asGiga Bowser andWario-Man) in losing its player-controlled moveset in favor of a quick attack that returns players more promptly to normal gameplay.

Instructional quote[edit]

Origin[edit]

Gameplay of Giga Mac fromPunch-Out!! (Wii)
Giga Mac art fromPunch-Out!! (Wii)

In the two-player mode ofPunch-Out!! for theWii, both players control a Little Mac; either can turn into Giga Mac after punching the opponent enough times in a certain area. If they do, the game then shifts from two evenly-matched Little Macs fighting in split-screen to gameplay resembling the single-player mode, with Little Mac fighting a larger and slower Mac. The player controlling Giga Mac gains slower but stronger attacks, in addition to a taunt.

Spirit[edit]

Giga Mac also appears as a Legend-classprimary spirit.

InAdventure Mode: World of Light, Giga Mac is presumably one of the countless spirits captured byGaleem during his takeover of the universe. After Galeem's defeat,Dharkon takes control of Galeem's spirits, including Giga Mac. After Dharkon's defeat, he flees to the final world, with Galeem following soon after. In the final world, Galeem and Dharkon wage war against each other using their captured spirits, with Galeem taking control of Giga Mac.

Giga Mac uses aGiantLittle Mac puppet fighter and is fought on theBoxing Ring stage. During the battle, Little Mac is equipped with super armor, referencing how Giga Mac cannot be flinched when attacked as a transformation Final Smash inSuper Smash Bros. 4.
