Afloor attack, commonly/officially known as agetup attack (おきあがり攻撃 or 起き上がり攻撃) orrising attack, and referred to asDownAttackU andDownAttackD (depending on which side the character is laying on) internally inBrawl files, is a form offloor recovery. When the attack button is pressed while acharacter lies on the ground, the character will simultaneously stand up and perform a weak attack that hits on both sides to create space.

The attack used depends on whether the character is sitting (aftertripping), lying face up, or lying face down; these are respectively known in Japanese as転倒おきあがり攻撃 or 転倒起き上がり攻撃 (Tumble over getup attack),あおむけおきあがり攻撃 or 仰向け起き上がり攻撃 (Face up getup attack) andうつぶせおきあがり攻撃 or うつ伏せ起き上がり攻撃 (Face down getup attack).

Floor attacks are seldom used as a getup option incompetitive play, as their animations grant relatively lowintangibility frames compared to other getup options, and the user is vulnerable to beingpunished if an opponent shields the attack. However, they are effective for creating space when cornered or to prevent an opponent from readying an attack.

FromSSB4 onwards, floor attacks deal moderate shield damage. In the case where an opponent with a slightly-damaged shield is hit by both the front and back floor attacks, it can be enough to cause ashield break.

If the character is lying the attack does 6%, and if they're sitting the attack does 5% unless otherwise noted.

Corrin	Swings the Omega Yato in a circular motion front and back.
Daisy	Does a legsweep back and front.
Dark Pit	Swings one blade in the back and the other blade in the front.
Dark Samus	Gets up and thrusts her Arm Cannon front and back.
Diddy Kong	Kick back and front. Kick front and back.
Donkey Kong	Jumps on both his hands and kicks backwards then forwards. Claps both hands back and front.
Dr. Mario	Does a sweepkick back and front.
Duck Hunt	The duck headbutts back and front.
Falco	Punches forwards, then kicks backwards. Thrusts one leg front and back.
Fox	Punches forwards, then kicks backwards.
Ganondorf	Stands on both hands and performs a spinning double kick. Does a legsweep back and front.
