The Walt Disney Company (often shortened to simplyDisney) is an American multinational entertainment and media conglomerate headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios complex in Burbank, California.Mickey Mouse, a cartoon character created in 1928 byWalt Disney andUb Iwerks, is the company's official mascot. The company has established itself as a leader in the American animation industry with family films such asSteamboat Willie in 1928,Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937,The Little Mermaid in 1989,The Lion King in 1994, andFrozen in 2013, and in recent years has become known for acquiring franchises such as theThe Muppets,Marvel Universe,Star Wars, andThe Simpsons through various sales and corporate mergers, with arguably the most famous of such acquisitons being withPixar, an animation studio that has become synonymous with Disney and created work of a near-equal cultural impact, most famously 1995'sToy Story, the first full-length CGI film. The company also has sizeable investments in television through theAmerican Broadcasting Company and its own line of branded channels and syndication blocks for children, in theme parks and experiences starting withDisneyland, in sports content withESPN, in media aimed at older demographics through the now-defunctTouchstone Pictures brand, and in merchandising for all of its intellectual properties. The company has also seen moderate success in video games, primarily with licensed adaptations of films and cartoons made by the studio, with its most prolific and successful franchises in the gaming industry being the defunct MMOClub Penguin, the various adventure games made byLucasArts, and the action role-playing crossover between Disney andSquare Enix properties,Kingdom Hearts, the latter of which forms the whole of the company's representation inSmash.

InSuper Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]

Mickey Mouse andMickey and Donald, bothGame & Watch games based on the eponymous Disney characters, are listed in theChronicle in all regions. Three additional games are also included exclusively in the Japanese version, those being the Nintendo 64 version ofMickey's Speedway USA,Disney's Magical Quest Starring Mickey and Minnie, andDisney's Magical Mirror Starring Mickey Mouse.

InSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

Sora, the protagonist of theKingdom Hearts franchise, developed bySquare Enix as a joint collaboration between them and Disney, was confirmed on October 5, 2021 to be the sixth and final fighter in the Fighter's Pass Vol. 2, and the finalSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter in general. Sora, along withHollow Bastion, 10 music tracks and 13 totalspirits released for purchase on October 18th, 2021 (October 19th in some time zones). Despite Disney neither developing nor publishing theKingdom Hearts games the content present inUltimate originates from, they are the sole owner of the brand and all of its original assets, leading to them being the company credited with Sora's inclusion.

The silhouette of Mickey Mouse's head, one of Disney’s most recognizable symbols and trademarks, can also be seen as a keychain on Sora's Keyblade.
