Deoxys (デオキシス,Deoxys) is a creature in thePokémon media franchise.
Origin[edit]
Deoxys is aPsychic-typeMythical Pokémon introduced inGeneration III, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #386 as the "DNA Pokémon". Originally exclusive to events, Deoxys would later be obtainable through normal gameplay inPokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire as part of the post-gameDelta Episode, and as such is the first Mythical Pokémon with this distinction. It possesses four differentFormes: the Normal Forme, with high attack stats and low defense stats, the Attack Forme, which sharpens even further its disparity between attacking and defensive stats, the Defense Forme, which is much slower and less powerful but severely increases its defensive capabilities, and the Speed Forme, which has balanced offensive and defensive stats and originally had the highest base speed of any Pokémon, before being succeeded byRegieleki. The Attack Forme, originally exclusive toPokémon FireRed, is the one that appears in theSmash series.
Hyper Beam is a specialNormal-type move with 150 base power and 90% accuracy. While very powerful, if successful it forces the user to waste one turn to recharge. It is available to most fully-evolved Pokémon withTM15, but Deoxys can also learn it by leveling up in its Normal and Attack Formes.
InSuper Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]
As a Poké Ball Pokémon[edit]
The Attack Form of Deoxys appears inSuper Smash Bros. Brawl. When it comes out of itsPoké Ball, it will fly upward, lightly dealing 7% damage and meteor smashing anyone who touches it. Once at the top of the screen it will shoot a powerful Hyper Beam downwards. The Hyper Beam willpull in fighters and deal 1% at the edge (indicated by a faint, blue aura) and 30% at the beam, with the beam having high knockback and being able toone-hit KOMario. While difficult, it is possible toSDI the edge hits and avoid being hit by the beam.
Deoxys has a spawn chance of3/586, making it,Lugia, andHo-Oh the second rarest Poké Ball summons inBrawl behindMew,Celebi, andJirachi.

- A DNA Pokémon born through the mutation of the DNA of a space virus. It has multiple formes, and the abilities it possesses and the techniques it can remember change from forme to forme. It has four formes: Normal, Attack, Defense, and Speed. It can be made to change formes by using the power of a meteorite in Veilstone City.

InSuper Smash Bros. 4[edit]
As a Poké Ball Pokémon[edit]
Deoxys reappears inSuper Smash Bros. 4 as a Poké Ball Pokémon, also being able to appear from the newly-introducedMaster Ball. Its function is unchanged from its appearance inBrawl, but its Hyper Beam has significantly less knockback, being unable to KOMario until around 80%.
Deoxys has a spawn chance of8/975 from Poké Balls and32/690 from Master Balls. It cannot be summoned on the following stages in a standard versus match (applies to both games and only the base form unless noted otherwise):
Trophy[edit]
Deoxys's trophy is available in both versions. InSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U it is exclusive to theTrophy shop and is part of theLegends of HoennTrophy Box.

Spirit[edit]
Deoxys's Normal Forme also appears as a Legend-classprimary spirit.
Deoxys's Spirit Battle uses aMewtwo puppet fighter and is fought on theMario Galaxy stage'sBattlefield form. During the battle, Deoxys' Attacke Forme appears appears as the Poké Ball Pokémon, while Mewtwo has increased attack power, referencing Deoxys's Attack Forme's high attack stat, which is more powerful than the attack stat of its other formes.
