Cryogonal (フリージオ,Freegeo) is a creature from thePokémon media franchise.

Origin[edit]

Cryogonal is an Ice-type Pokémon introduced inGeneration V, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #615 as the "Crystallizing Pokémon". It has no evolutionary relatives and is very rare; it is only found in icy areas.

Ice Beam is a special Ice-type move introduced inGeneration I with 90 base power (95 prior toGeneration VI), 100% accuracy, and a 10% chance offreezing its target. Cryogonal learns the move naturally via level up, and, like most other Ice-type Pokémon, can also learn it withTM13 orTR05.

As an enemy[edit]

Cryogonal using Ice Beam inSmash Run

Cryogonal appears as an enemy inSmash Run.

Cryogonal hovers in arcs around the player and attacks them with a long, straightIce Beam which deals 5% damage andfreezes its target. The direction of the Ice Beam can either be kept fixed or be rotated within a 180 degree radius to follow the player, with the latter having a longer telegraph. After firing an Ice Beam, Cryogonal cannot fire another until 2.5 seconds have passed.

The attack comes in two forms: it will either fire in one direction, or it'll rotate as it fires. Don't let it hit you or you'll end up frozen solid!
