Crazy Hand returns inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, playing a role inClassic Mode andAdventure Mode: World of Light.

Crazy Hand's voice clips fromSuper Smash Bros. 4, where he is voiced byXander Mobus, who also serves as the game'sannouncer, were repurposed forUltimate.

In Classic Mode[edit]

Crazy Hand appears as a boss inClassic Mode. For the first time in the entire series, Crazy Hand has the ability to face in either direction (left or right), which he combines with snapping his fingers to teleport around. Also for the first time in the series sinceSuper Smash Bros. Brawl'sBoss Battles, Crazy Hand no longer has a stamina HP indicator, now having a health bar akin to bosses fromSubspace Emissary and World of Light. This results inMaster Hand having a separate health bar as well, meaning that they no longer share the same pool of HP as they did inSmash 4. However, he can now be stunned, which renders him immobile on the ground for about 8 seconds.

The only fighters that are assigned to fight Crazy Hand by default in Classic Mode areFalco andKen. Crazy Hand will also fight along with Master Hand if the intensity is 7.0 or above, including for the aforementioned fighters.Ice Climbers,Mewtwo,Chrom,Meta Knight,Pit,Diddy Kong,Ryu,Incineroar,Banjo & Kazooie,Byleth,Sephiroth,Pyra/Mythra andSora always fight both Master Hand and Crazy Hand.

Moveset[edit]

Like Master Hand, Crazy Hand has received a large variety of new attacks.

Individual[edit]

MoveDamageDescription
Slap (ひっぱたく)13.8%Crazy Hand makes a large swipe across the stage.
Bomb Spread (爆弾散布)Crazy Hand drops a series of naval mines from his fingertips.
Drill (ドリル)45.2%Crazy Hand drills down into the player.
Finger Extend (指を伸ばす)Crazy Hand extends his index finger to about three times its length for a poke attack that freezes.
Airplane (飛行機)13.75%Crazy Hand flies into the background, circles around, and rams the player.
Finger Beam (指ビーム)6.4%Crazy Hand fires blue lasers from his fingertips.
Glare (にらみつける)Crazy Hand manifests an eye between his fingers that circles a beam of light around the stage. If the player is caught within the eye's line of sight, the light beam will briefly track their movement as it will charges up and unleashes a dark purple energy burst thatstuns the player. The beam of light will circle around again if it is dodged the first time, making it hard to avoid the lock-on phase if done with improper timing.
Fire Wheel (火車)Crazy Hand produces five blue fireballs that circle around him. The fireballs first move outwards, then back inwards, before finally spreading outwards again. All fireballs dealaura damage.
Gravity Sphere (重力球)Crazy Hand produces a black hole that proceeds to hover around the stage by itself (allowing Crazy Hand to do something else in the meantime). Being caught results in a grab that leads into a meteor smash. Like Master Hand's Finger Bullet, when Crazy Hand has low health, he creates two voids.
Dig Up (掘りあげる)Crazy Hand digs his fingers into the ground and swipes them back out as a clawing attack. The force of the swipe also creates a yellow shockwave that travels along the ground, which can be reflected.
Squirm (のたうつ)Crazy Hand drops to the ground and flails about. At the end, he slaps the ground with the back of his hand, dealing damage.
Spider (クモ)Crazy Hand skitters across the stage.
Grip and Slam (握りたたきつけ)Crazy Hand's pummel, with the addition offlower damage after grab release. At low health, heburies the player, who will remain submerged longer if the opponent has already dealt a fair amount of damage.
Teleport (テレポート)N/ACrazy Hand teleports by snapping his fingers.

In combination withMaster Hand[edit]

MoveDamageDescription
Punch Catch (パンチキャッチ)Crazy Hand punches across the stage, with Master Hand catching him.
Double Finger Beam (W指ビーム)The two hands both use Finger Beam at once, sweeping across the entire stage.
Scratch & Blow (スクラッチ&ブロー)Crazy Hand runs his fingers across the stage like a plow, while Master Hand flies in the other direction with an uppercut.
Barking (ほえる)25.8%The two hands form a canine-like shape and emit three damaging "barks", the third, much larger than the rest, causes the player character to get stunned if unblocked and within range.
Electric Shock (電気ショック)33.8%The two hands rub the back of their hands to charge up with electricity, then slap the stage to release electricity that covers the whole stage platform.
Finder (ファインダー)N/AMaster Hand and Crazy Hand create a "picture frame" (with their index fingers and thumbs), causing the screen to zoom in and flames to cover the corners in a similar vein toSudden Death. During this time, the blast lines are closer, and the player can get KO'd much more easily. This effect is only temporary.

Role inWorld of Light[edit]

Approaching the real Crazy Hand in World of Light

Many Crazy Hands appear afterGaleem's initial defeat, all of which led by Galeem's dark counterpart,Dharkon. He is fought three times in The Dark Realm, one guarding each of the three pathways into the subareas, and twice more during The Final Battle.

Once the player manages to get the true ending's requirements, Crazy Hand and Master Hand are freed and they help the player by creating a giant rift using Electric Shock for the latter to enter and destroy 50false characters.

Crazy Hand's freedom suggests that, like the fighters, he was captured by Dharkon before the events of World of Light and then replicated for its army.

Spirit[edit]

Crazy Hand's spirit can be obtained after beating them in World of Light.

Trivia[edit]

  • Ultimate marks the first time Crazy Hand has aunique theme that is not shared with Master Hand. Crazy Hand's theme is mostly composed of the fourth verse ofLifelight, the main theme of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This is also shared with Dharkon's theme.
    • The end of Crazy Hand's theme also has a small portion of the beginning ofMaster Core's theme.
  • Pikachu andPokémon Trainer are the only characters to face Master Hand in their Classic Mode route to have no possibility to also fight Crazy Hand (since they fightMewtwo beforehand).
