Central Mexico is aSmash region that consists of the State of México (or Edomex) and the federal entity Mexico City (or CDMX); the latter is also the capital of the entire country. The region bordersNorth Central Mexico states Guanajuato and Querétaro;West Mexico state Michoacán;South Mexico states Guerrero and Morelos; andEast Mexico states Hidalgo, Puebla, and Tlaxcala.
Central Mexico has historically featured some notable players, includingDext3r forSmash 64. However, inSmash 4 andUltimate, Central Mexico is considered one of the strongest, if not the strongest,Smash regions in Mexico, with players who not only rank highly in Mexico, but also have been ranked globally. This includesChag,Javi,Maister, andMKBigBoss. Most notably, this region is the home ofMkLeo, one of the bestSmash 4 players of all time and the greatestUltimate player of all time.
Central Mexico is also the new home forSmash Factor, the largest tournament series inMexico;Smash Factor X is currently the largest tournament inMexico, at 819 entrants.
