C button
TheC button refers to the four directional buttons on the top right area of theNintendo 64 controller, a button on the back of theNunchuk, or a button on theJoy-Con 2 (R) and theNintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. The Nintendo 64 controller's C buttons are yellow, the Nunchuk's C button matches the color of the its shell, and the Joy-Con 2 and Switch 2 Pro Controller's C button is dark gray. OnNintendo Switch 2 controllers, it is used to activate the GameChat feature and currently has no in-game applications.
Overview[edit]
All four of the Nintendo 64 C buttons on the N64 controller are used forjumping when fighting, and are used tochange costumes on the character selection screen.
A single C button is present on the Nunchuk, which is made compatible withSuper Smash Bros. Brawl andSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U. This button is used tojump by default, but this can be changed in thecontrols menu.
A Nintendo 64 controller was created forNintendo Switch Online subscribers, and is compatible withSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. However, this is a Nintendo 64 controller in design only, as it has the internal components of aNintendo Switch Pro Controller. The C buttons on this controller are set to the C-stick option by default, but this can be altered in the controls menu.
C-Stick[edit]
TheNintendo GameCube controller's equivalent of the N64's C buttons is the C-Stick, which is used inSuper Smash Bros. Melee's VS. Mode and if playing on a GCN controller inSuper Smash Bros. Brawl to activate uncharged smash attacks. If playing in single player inMelee, it adjusts the camera zoom. TheClassic Controller,Wii U GamePad,Wii U Pro Controller,Joy-Cons, andNintendo Switch Pro Controller have an equivalent to the C-stick with a right analog stick that have identical functionality to the GameCube C-stick.
