Bomber (ボンバー,Bomber) is an enemy from theKirby series.
Origin[edit]
Bombers debuted as enemies inKirby's Adventure and have appeared in mostKirby games since. They are often found near ledges that they promptly fall off of, detonating on impact with the ground orKirby with a large explosion. Wheninhaled, it gives Kirby the exclusiveCrash ability, which defeats all onscreen enemies instantly and also deals large damage to bosses.
InSuper Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]
Trophy[edit]
Bomber appears as a trophy inBrawl, as one of the random trophies for the player to collect.
- Bomber
- One dangerous dude--as evidenced by the skull drawn on his body. Bomber walks around on two legs, but whenever he falls from stairs or other high places, he hits his head and explodes, covering a significant blast radius. Kirby can suck him up to learn the Crash ability, the ultimate weapon for wiping out every last enemy on the screen. Use it once and it's gone!

Bomber reappears as a trophy inSmash 4, exclusively in the 3DS version.

If you think a bit of mystery is the spice of life, you'll be disappointed here. If it looks like a bomb and explodes like a bomb...it's a bomb! A cute bomb, though, I admit. If he falls or bumps into something, he'll explode. With the right timing, you can throw him at enemies and do loads of damage!
If you think a bit of mystery is the spice of life, you'll be disappointed here. This guy looks like a bomb and explodes like a bomb because...he IS a bomb. Most bombs don't bumble around so cutely, though. If he falls or bumps into something, he'll explode. But if your timing's good, you can throw him at enemies and do loads of damage!
InSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
| “ | Hold the Bomber up with the A button and a massive explosion will occur in 1.5 seconds. You will take less damage by moving away from the center of the explosion, so if you are about to get caught in it, try to get away! | ” |

Bomber appears as anitem. It spawns walking around, similarly to aBob-omb. If left alone for long enough, or it walks off an edge and falls onto a surface below, it detonates in a huge, powerful explosion that slows down time just beforehand. Unlike in its originalKirby appearance, it may choose to turn around upon reaching an edge.
The Bomber can also be used as a held item. When picked up and used, the user will lift it above their head for several seconds, much like theSpecial Flag. Eventually, this will slow down time before the Bomber detonates, resulting in a massive explosion around the user that deals heavy damage and knockback to any nearby opponents; this does not harm the user. However, if held and left unused, the Bomber will eventually flash red and then detonate after a set timer, which can harm the user as well. The Bomber can be thrown with the grab button but it will not detonate on impact with anything it hits, including opponents; it will bounce off of them for minimal damage instead. If thrown while the Bomber is flashing red, it will no longer hit opponents but rather pass through them.
If the Bomber is left to its own devices and reaches a ledge, it will behave like in its home series and drop from it, detonating on impact with the nearest surface below. The explosion triggers at the point of impact, meaning it will never detonate if placed in a situation where it falls forever. The Bomber must specifically fall from a ledge to explode, as it will simply land if spawned in the air and will disappear after a while if it never touches the ground. The explosion deals more damage if the victim is closer to its center. Unlike other standard explosions, the Bomber's explosions cannot beabsorbed.
Spirit[edit]
Bomber also appears as an Advanced-classsupport spirit. Its Spirit Battle uses aKirby puppet fighter and is fought on theDream Land GB stage. During the battle, the Bomber appears as the item while Kirby starts off with a Bomber.
