Big Battlefield (大戦場,Large Battlefield) is a stage inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. It was revealed forUltimate during theNintendo Direct ofE3 2018.

Stage overview[edit]

Big Battlefield is a bigger version ofBattlefield, originally designed for matches using8 players. With respect to the original Battlefield, the main platform of Big Battlefield is wider and there are 6 floating platforms instead of 3, arranged in a pyramid formation.

Visually, Big Battlefield still takes place in a futuristic ruins setting, with crumbled buildings on floating islands in the background. However, it now floats above a large waterfall, and large chunks of ice or crystal are present both below and on the right side of the stage.

Ω form and Battlefield form[edit]

Big Battlefield'sBattlefield andΩ forms are exactly identical to regular Battlefield's.

Tournament legality[edit]

Big Battlefield is banned from tournaments, the reason being that it is simply too big for a normal match; faster characters can abuse the size of the stage to run away and win bytime out. Additionally, the platform layout allowscircle camping. However, the stage's size can be considered acceptable for 3 vs 3 or 4 vs 4 matches.
