Beedrill (スピアー,Spear) is a creature in thePokémon media franchise.
Origin[edit]
Beedrill is a Bug/Poison-type Pokémon introduced inGeneration I. It is listed as #015 in the Pokédex and known as the "Poison Bee Pokémon". Beedrill evolves fromKakuna at level 10, which evolves fromWeedle at level 7. As ofPokémon Omega Ruby andAlpha Sapphire, Beedrill is capable of undergoingMega Evolution.
Take Down is a Normal-type move with 90 base power and 85% accuracy. It also deals 1/4 of the damage inflicted asrecoil. Beedrill can learn it viaTM09 only in Generation I.

Beedrill makes its first, and so far only, appearance in theSuper Smash Bros. series as a Poké Ball Pokémon inSuper Smash Bros. It uses the move Take Down. When Beedrill is summoned, a single Beedrill will fly off the screen with a swarm of Beedrill appearing afterwards, flying horizontally across the screen. Opponents hit by any of the Beedrill in the swarm will receive 12%damage andknockback—the initially summoned Beedrill does 18%.
Beedrill has a spawn chance of1/12.
The sound effects part of Beedrill's summon come from the Japanese version of thePokémon episodeChallenge of the Samurai.
Beedrill did not return in any following game, butUnown attacks in a similar fashion inSuper Smash Bros. Melee.
