This article is about theWarioWare character. For other uses, seeAshley (disambiguation).

Ashley (アシュリー,Ashley) is a recurring character from theWarioWare series.

Origin[edit]

Ashley casting a spell inGame & Wario.

Ashley is a young witch-in-training who lives in ahaunted mansion inDiamond City, making her debut as an employee of WarioWare, Inc. inWarioWare: Touched! She is typically accompanied by her familiar, a small shape-shifting imp namedRed, who commonly takes the form of her magic wand. Just likeKat and Ana from the same series, in mostWarioWare titles they offer a different short story with a set of microgames to go with it.

Ashley and Red's microgames are generally centered around either using a type of control scheme in a specific way, such as dragging stuff with theNintendo DS touch screen like in their debut game, or sometimes they can all be related to a specific theme around them, such as being related to all kinds of food like inWarioWare: D.I.Y.

Ashley is commonly depicted in her stories as aloof and studious with her magic, though her spells often backfire due to her lack of experience. She is also very quick to anger, though she otherwise shows little emotion. Despite this, her theme song reveals that she considers herself lonely, ultimately wanting to have more friends.

InSuper Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]

Ashley's Song appears in both English and Japanese language versions on theWarioWare, Inc.stage. Ashley also appears as asticker in this game.

As anAssist Trophy[edit]

Ashley's cloud attack.

When summoned, Ashley conjures up a cloud with an area of effect using Red's wand form. Any enemies caught in the cloud willmove twice as slowly, take damage, take 10% damage when eatingfood, and have various effects applied to them. The effects she can apply are:burying (10/28), reversing (6/28),tripping or forcinghelplessness when attacking or grabbing (4/28; lasts 2.5 seconds; grounded or aerial, respectively; doesn't apply to pummels, throws, or taunt attacks), invisibility (2/28),tiny (4/28), and preventing forwarddashing or groundedfull hops (2/28; lasts 2.5 seconds; doesn't halt in-progress dashes or turnaround dashes). In the Wii U version, Ashley's hair and eyes turn white and red respectively when she conjures the cloud. Unlike her appearance in theWarioWare games, she does not have any voice clips.

Ashley has a spawn chance of32/1254. She cannot be summoned on the following stages in a standard versus match (applies to both games and only the base form unless noted otherwise):

As a background character[edit]

Ashley can appear as a sticker decoratingGamer. The sticker is located on a large solid platform that can randomly appear on the left side of the stage.

While both English and Japanese versions are available on Gamer, only one variant is available on WarioWare, depending on the region.

NTSCThis young witch-in-training lives in a haunted mansion in Diamond City. She's shy and quick to anger, but secretly she wants more friends. When she appears on the battlefield, she will summon a damaging zone of darkness around her. The zone causes a variety of effects, none of them good.
