Album
Album is a mode included in theVault where players can see their storedsnapshots they have taken from matches or other modes.
InSuper Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]
To take a photo inBrawl, the player mustpause during a fight and press the button on theGameCube controller andNunchuk, the
button on theClassic Controller, or the
button on theWii Remote to take the photo, much likeCamera Mode inMelee.
The player can also take photos in theSubspace Emissary mode, as well as most other modes, but not during cutscenes,Home-Run Contest,Training,Target Smash/Test,Multi-Man Brawl, or Wi-Fi matches. However, the player can still take snapshots fromreplays of WiFi matches.
Players can also take pictures oftrophies that have been arranged in theTrophy Hoard orSticker Centre, and could send them to friends via WiiConnect24. For some reason, snapshots usually cost morecoins to share than anything else.
InSuper Smash Bros. 4[edit]
The feature returns inSuper Smash Bros. 4. During a match, when the player pauses the game, camera options will be displayed, allowing the player to switch cameras between participants, zoom in and out, pan across the battle field, rotate the camera, and take snapshots using certain buttons:
or
on the Nintendo 3DS
on theWii U GamePad,Wii U Pro Controller, andClassic Controller
on theGameCube Controller and Wii Remote +Nunchuk
on theWii Remote
Snapshots will be stored in theAlbum section of theVault, located inGames & More, where they can be moved to player-created albums, commented upon, and deleted. Snapshots can be taken during most modes, excludingHome-Run Contest,Training,Target Blast,Multi-Man Brawl, and Wi-Fi matches. Snapshots can still be taken from Wi-Fi matches. In the Wii U version, photos can only be taken if an SD card is inserted into the console.
InSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
Ultimate has no dedicated in-game Album, but screenshots are saved in theNintendo Switch system's Album in the Home menu. This allows screenshots to be used outside of the game itself without third-party software, greatly expanding their utility.
