Tepera, 32, appeared in 23 games in 2019, posting a 4.98 ERA in 21 2/3 innings. He missed more than three months due to a right elbow impingement, but came back for a strong month of September (3.38 ERA in 11 appearances). Tepera is arbitration-eligible and will likely be sent to Buffalo if he clears waivers.

Travis, 28, did not play for the Blue Jays in 2019, instead of spending the year recovering from left knee surgery. In 2018, he struggled to a .656 OPS in 103 games.

Like Tepera, Travis is arbitration-eligible. He may choose to accept his outright assignment to Buffalo or become a free agent.

As a result of these moves, both Tepera and Travis were removed from the Blue Jays’ 40-man roster, which is back down to 40 players after pitchersRyan Borucki,Tim Mayza andMatt Shoemaker, as well as outfielderLourdes Gurriel Jr., were reinstated from the 60-day injured list.
