Johnny Hallyday never seems to give in. With a career that's been going on for over 55 years, he's possibly one of the biggest musical icons the French-speaking world has ever seen, often being compared to Elvis Presley. His rock n roll style has moved generations of listeners, and seeing him live at House of Blues in New Orleans in May 2014 was so much fun, an absolutely insane experience!
Despite the fact that he's nearing 72, Johnny is like wildfire on stage. He's constantly up and about, he's interacting with his audience, he's belting out the classics like 'Jamais seul', and all the while, he's having the time of his life. He's a seasoned performer, and he's been inspired by the best of French music; he's created a wonderful legacy and you can almost see him glowing on stage as he sings like an angel. The crowd was all a blur, completely engaged in what was happening in front of them. His career has mostly been like this - everyone watching him in a daze, feeling every nuance and emotion poured into his music.
Johnny is a class act, and with so much passion for what he does, here's to hoping he's still performing a decade from now - I don't think the world is ready for this music idol to retire his act, and I look forward to my next opportunity to see him perform live!
