The Barnabáš Kos Case
(Prípad Barnabáš Kos)

A film by Peter Solan
Czechoslovakia, 1964

Blu-ray Special Edition

“The verve of the Czech New Wave and the economy of classical Hollywood cinema. ... Barnabáš has bite beyond the travesties of the socialist state”Gabriel M Paletz

Peter Solan’s 1964 film is an absurdist, darkly funny
Kafkaesque satire of an authoritarian system that
rewards mediocrity and breeds petty dictatorship. Its
wry exposure of hypocrisy, sycophancy and the
corrupting influence of power remains, unsurprisingly,
fresh and relevant even today.

This Blu-ray Special Edition also includes Solan's early short film Nemecka (1974), a filmed introduction to the film - plus
a 32-page booklet with new writing on the film by author Jonathan Owen and filmmaker Peter Strickland.

Release Date: March 2025

Elena Gorfinkel, Sight and Sound

Kevin Jerome Everson's epic, immersive, observational eight-hour documentary Park Lanes follows workers in an American factory over the course of an eight-hour shift, from clock-in to clock-out, experienced and presented in real time.

This 2-Disc Blu-ray Special Edition includes the complete film, plus a 40-page booklet with new essays by Matthew Barrington and Elena Gorfinkel, and an interview with Kevin Jerome Everson by Michael Gillespie.

A film by Piotr Szulkin

A dark satire of Communist Poland in the late 1970s, Piotr Szulkin's Kafkaesque science-fiction allegory is a precursor to Blade Runner, and evokes the post-apocalyptic landscape of Andrei Tarkovsky's Stalker.

This Blu-ray Special Edition also includes for the first time anywhere a selection of Piotr Szulkin's early short film works, newly remastered in HD - plus an all-new audio commentary by Michael Brooke.

Release Date: February 2025
