Synopsis: LIMINAL is a high-concept sci-fi thriller set in a collapsing maze-world torn open by nuclear distortion. It follows Frost, a skilled outcast whose tribe is displaced by climate warfare and finds himself trapped in a liminal dimension with shifting gravity, fractal time, and survivors from across the globe. As Frost uncovers the truth behind the world’s living control system and the father who helped create it, he must choose whether to lead a new tribe to freedom or repeat the collapse that exiled him.Think The Maze Runner meets Interstellar, with a haunting, grounded heart.

pole. Unmasked, DR.ALTAIR LANE, 45,looks ruggedly

intelligent.

(robotic voice)

ALTAIR:

(smirks)

It's time to eat.

EXT.BOAT -OCEAN - DAY

Vastexpanse ofsparkling blue water,stretching out as far

as the eye can see. Ice floating.

A lone boat thatreads "Altair Lane" bobs up and down on the

waves. We seeAltairstanding at the edge, abucket of CREEL

fish in his hand, he'swearing anunnoticeable NECKLACE- He

tosses them, soft plop on thesurface of the water.

ALTAIR:

(to himself)

Come on, now.

Suddenly, aMASSIVEshapeRISES to the sky. It's a BLUE

WHALE,scooping up the fishalong with amouthful of

seawater.

ALTAIR (CONT'D)

(satisfied)

Hahahahah! WOOOOOOOOO!

EXT.THUNDERBIRDISLANDS -PLANEWRECKAGE - DAY

Heavy snow. FROST, 9, aims hissniper at aCOW down the

Ashboats on land. ACoomoe birdsnatches his frozen

sandwich.

HEAVY SNOW. Gasdispensing from above,white dove silently

observes.Footballplayers wearTECH COLLARS. Non-compliance

Unmasked, Frost,TWOfiguresDARTINGacross the street. The

olivebranchFLUTTERS to his shoulder. Hecasts a somber

glance forward, beat. Hedraws out abloodpreservation tube

from his boot.

Neon lights, high ceiling.Holographic displays, glowing

potions, andancient manuscripts.

In thecenter lies afloating real deadhuman - FOOTBALLER

ALTAIR:

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, this

is it. Themoment of truth.

Asmall ball ofANTIMATTERHOVERS in mid-air.

Altairapproaches the dead body andINJECTS anuclear liquid

into his mouth. BEEP. Just then, the doorBURSTS open.

FLINCHES,drops the vial, itSHATTERS on the floor.

SPRAWLING to the ground. Hequicklyrolls over.

Frost, 19,starts to get back to his feet. ACLOWNSOLDIER is

upon him, gun raised.

CLOWN SOLDIER:

(evil grin)

[Gotcha!] Daptak!

FrostCLOSES his eyes. BANG. TheclownsoldierDROPS DEAD. A

rifle isemerging from the trees.

Zetakes down the PURSUERS, one by one. Hepulls up Frost.

ZEE:

[LET'S GO!] HOFO!

EXT.THUNDERBIRDISLANDS -SHELTERENTRANCE - DAY

Tents.Refugee families.Frost and Zeenter with a practiced

routine. Theentrance sign reads: "WONDERFUL LIFE" without

the "F."

INT.THUNDERBIRDISLANDS -TENT - LATER

FrostCOLLAPSES on the floor,reads a paper, WAD.

Staring up at the ceiling.Quilby sits nearby,munching a

fruit.

FROST:

(sighs)

Hernecklace is all I have left of

her. I miss her so much, it hurts.

QUILBY:

(Morse code)

I know.

FROST:

I just wish she was here. She

always knew what to say to make me

feel better.

Quilby nods understandingly.

Beat.

FROST (CONT'D)

(sighs)

Alright, let's go train. Maybe

it'll take my mind off things.

Quilbysmiles and nods, as they both get up toleave the

tent. Hegrabs aRIFFLE by hotanchor pole.

EXT.THUNDERBIRDISLANDS -COAST - DAY

Windwhipsthrough ash trees,scatteringskulls and bones.

Frosttrudgesthrough the debris, a snow-plowhovering slow-

lowbehind him tocover his tracks.

Hestops andlooks outtowards theNUCLEARVOLCANO in the

water. HiscompasspointsNORTHtowards it- HeHOLDS his

breath as hewatchesCLOWNSOLDIERS from afar.

Dripping.Frostshootsthreefloatingpanels that read

"SCIENCE.IS NOT. FAKE."beforedisappearing into the fog.

EXT./INT.FOREST -FLYINGCAR - CONTINUOUS

Frostsuffocates thesnowplowinside the trunk.

Seatbelts on.Frostturns atTREMBLING Quilby.

FROST:

(firmly)

Holographic map on thecontrol panel.ENGINES ON. He notices

MALE 1 (V.O.)

Thetension in the room isESCALATING as theworld leaders

listen to the DMD's words.

DEPUTYMINISTEROF DEFENSE

(passionate)

Jalad'sregimeposesdanger to the

world. We must act now to dictate

the fate of our land.

INT.CONFERENCEROOM - CONTINUOUS

Thetribal leader'svoicegrowslouder as they nod.

TECHNICIAN:

RÉLM

ZE:

(annoyed)

CAPTAINSABLE (CONT'D)

Quilbypoints at Frost's hand excitedly. No response, his

face falls. Henotices aSECRETBACKROOM with aslightly open

wall.Frostapproaches it- A handHALTS his shoulder.

CAPTAINSABLE (O.S.)

Sigh of relief.FrostDRAWSOUT thePORTABLE MACHINE.

FROST:

I have something-

CAPTAIN SABLE:

(firm)

Iasked you a question,Frost Lane.

FROST:

I'm sorry, sir, won't happen

CAPTAIN SABLE:

Frost nods.

CAPTAINSABLE (CONT'D)

Frosteagerlyexplains the machine.

FROST:

It's like apager or something, and

Altairalways has it with him! I

have no idea what it does, but it

must besuperimportantbecause he

never puts it down. I'mdying to

know more!

CAPTAIN SABLE:

(confused)

Wait, wait, wait, stop, stop, stop.

Stop. Make it, simple, just like

the world.

Frosttakes a breath.

FROST:

Captain, Ithink thisthing will

help usreachAntimatter in Jalad

anddestroy it-

CaptainSable frowns.

CAPTAIN SABLE:

Yourfather isafter the nuclear

volcano, son, not the-

FROST:

He'sdevelopedAntimatter from the

volcano! Hecould bedoing so much

more to help us survive, but he's

caught up inpointless power

struggles!

(Sablerolls eyes)

You're notlistening to me. We

Jalad or it'sgonna mess up

Touah'la real bad, even if we get

there safe!

CAPTAIN SABLE:

CaptainSabletakes a sip of adrink andwinces as the fiery

spice hits his throat.

FROST:

distorted laws of physics. Quilby's

been there!

CaptainSableSPITS out a laugh.Frost is puzzled.

CAPTAIN SABLE:

(out of control)

I'm sorry, son. I don't mean to

disrespect your "metaphysics" whole

knowledge, but you see...

(finger gun to brain)

Wegotta staylogical many times.

Frost'sconfidence wavers.

FROST:

CAPTAINSABLE (CONT'D)

SOLDIER (O.C.)

us to be precise, sir.

CAPTAIN SABLE:

SOLDIER:

Yes, sir, we couldn't see well in

the dark, but theyseemed to...

CAPTAIN SABLE:

(angry)

SOLDIER:

Beat.CaptainSableEXCHANGESlooks with Frost.

CAPTAIN SABLE:
