Bullying is defined as repeated aggressive behavior intended to harm another person physically or mentally. It is characterized by an individual gaining power over another through name-calling, abuse, exclusion, or coercion. The effects of bullying can be serious, causing long-term emotional and behavioral issues like depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Bullies may behave this way to feel popular, tough, or get attention and can bully due to jealousy or their own experiences being bullied. Research shows bullies have authoritarian personalities with strong desires to control others.
