On January 9, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced a bounty of INR 500,000 for the absconding United States-based gangster Harpreet Singh alias Happy Passia, over his suspected involvement in grenade attacks on a house in Sector 10, Chandigarh (Union Territory), on September 11 and multiple attacks across the Punjab Police stations in 2024, reports ETV Bharat. The NIA has filed an application in the Chandigarh District Court seeking an arrest warrant against Passia in connection with these incidents. The NIA spokesperson stated that investigations into the Sector-10 attack revealed Passia orchestrated the assault while working for Pakistan-based Khalistani operative Harvinder Singh Rinda of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
