Holidays
Saint Mark's Preschool is closed for eight standard holidays each year, a couple of days for maintenance, cleanup, teacher-in-service, three days at Thanksgiving, spring break, plus a week or so at Christmas, depending on what day of the week Christmas falls.
Family days
Throughout the year, there are many opportunities for children and their families to celebrate at Saint Mark's together.

Open House
March or April
Our Open House is a Spring event on a Saturday morning. We welcome families who are looking for a preschool for their child but have not enrolled yet to come and visit the classrooms, meet the lead teachers and get more information. We provide snacks and activities for your children in all classrooms. This event is open to new and current parents. Please look out for details in the spring.
Mother's Day and Father's Day
May and June
We celebrate Mother's Day with "Muffins with Mom" in May, and celebrate Father's Day with "Donuts with Dad" in June. This takes places between 8:15 am and 9:30 am. Please check calendar and weekly emails for specific dates each year.
Back to School Event
September
Shortly after the beginning of our new school year is our Back to School Event. This is not your typical program type Back to School event: there are no speeches or presentations, but a time for refreshments and to get to know your child's school, his or her teachers, the administrative staff and the vestry of Saint Mark's who is our board. It is also a great chance to meet other families at the preschool. Please look out for details closer to the time.
Blessing of the Animals
October
We celebrate the feast of Saint Francis with a special service on a Saturday morning early October to honor our animal friends. Our very own preschool chaplain, Mother Andrea officiates, accompanied by her dog, Lizzie. Bring your pet, a photograph of your pet, a photograph of a pet you would like to have or a stuffed animal to the service. This is a very fun and kid friendly event as we get the chance to honor and show thanks for our special pet friends. All furry, spiky, slimy, feathery friends great and small are welcome–just make sure they are on a leash or safely secured!
Halloween Parade
October
We invite families for a special halloween parade and snack time on Halloween, or school day closest to October 31.
Christmas Pizza and Movie Night
December
We celebrate Christmas with pizza followed by a movie on a Friday evening in December. There is a time to listen to live Christmas music and for socializing before we screen a movie on the big screen in the church hall. Please check the calendar closer to the time for date and details.
