As the son of Odin (Anthony Hopkins), king of the Norse gods, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will soon inherit the throne of Asgard from his aging father. However, on the day that he is to be crowned, Thor reacts with brutality when the gods' enemies, the Frost Giants, enter the palace in violation of their treaty. As punishment, Odin banishes Thor to Earth. While Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Thor's brother, plots mischief in Asgard, Thor, now stripped of his powers, faces his greatest threat.

Chris Hemsworth makes an imposing, good-humoured Thor... but the motor of the film is Tom Hiddleston's complex, conflicted Loki. Go to Full Review

Witty, charming and very current, the big screen adaptation of Thor is sure to catapult its star Chris Hemsworth (whose wife, Elsa Pataky, ironically stars in Fast Five) to leading man status. Go to Full Review

Let's hope Branagh was well-compensated, at least. To quote his favorite author: No profit grows where is no pleasure taken. Go to Full Review

It's a grand, epic, and galaxy-bending display of gods among men. Never before has a superhero movie been so, well, super in its scope and size, yet still leaving room for a little dose of humanity. Go to Full Review

Rewatching now, it feels charmingly self-contained and coherent compared to many of its increasingly bloated successors. Go to Full Review

Branagh delivers more than anyone likely expected from a Thor comic adaptation, achieving a hugely entertaining success through his obvious understanding of both comic book and Norse mythologies. Go to Full Review Read all reviews
lya tony !@lyatonyFeb 5Not a perfect movie, but there's a perfect Thor for certain. Thor islike he actually is supposed to be, unlike other... most recent Thor movies... There's character growth, deep understanding of the villain, and, ngl, the darker atmosphere hits very well for Thor. They also hit the nail on the shakespearean tone, it actually feels like I'm watching medieval sceneries.Of course there's better Marvel origins, but this one feels proper enough. I don't hate it and will admit I've grown attached to it :) See more Dominic Emmanuel S@dominic726Jan 28the moment he removes his helmet thats were i lost interest in the film See more Ray CJan 26(Road to Doomsday pt. 4)Unlike The Incredible Hulk, the original Thor is much better than I remembered. For a while, I’d considered it one of the weaker MCU entries, but there’s actually a lot to like here. Chris Hemsworth is great in the lead, and it definitely helps that he’s backed up by an absolutely stacked supporting cast. The space scenes have some really strong visuals, and I genuinely dug the soundtrack. I don’t have any major issues with the film overall. That said, the Frost Giants are pretty lame as villains, and most of the action is fairly dull in my opinion. What ultimately holds it back for me, though, is that I’ve always preferred Marvel’s more grounded movies over the more cosmic, otherworldly ones. I’m much more of a fan of Iron Man and some of the Captain America films than the Thor or Guardians entries. Still, this is an enjoyable movie and an undeniably important one for the future of the MCU. See more luciana v@lulovesmarvelJan 23¡Excelente película! See more Declan D.@filmbuffkidJan 19A great setup for the avengers.
