The fires themselves are frighteningly well staged, and by the film's conclusion the courage and dedication of these firemen has been amply demonstrated. It's a pity that the film that tells their story wasn't a little less clunky.

A film that actually make me feel emotios after a long while

Definitely worth to watch to learn that incredible real life story. Acting and dialogue is so so but incredibly moving and the editing captures everything .

Wow. I dont want to give a single thing away, so wont comment on the plot. this is a must see. the acting, the pacing, the storyline, the character arcs, the production, the music tie-ins, the directing. everything!! one of my fav’s now.

Decent, if by the numbers, true story drama. Brolin,Teller and Connelly are brilliant as always though,and the scenes with fire are great. Reminds me of the blazes in 'Backdraft'. Almost seems alive.

The firefighters who lost their lives are worth a better movie. By all means it’s not a bad movie. But some scenes that have no character ar plot growth could be left behind.

I wanted to love this movie, but it undermined the great premise by being too sentimental and slow. I understand that the filmmaker wanted to honor the true story of the firefighters it was based on. But, as a result, the script ended up too predicable, never really surprising me with where it was going, and with too many 'speeches' from the characters. I streamed it, and ended up fast forwarding through parts in order to get to the end to find out what happened. I liked Josh Brolin and Miles Teller in this movie, but Jennifer Connelly was put in a wife/girlfriend role that I didn't buy. It just needed to be shorter, tighter, and not so adoring in the characterization.
