P K07/03/2024The acting from the leads makes it watchable so if you're a timothee chalamet fan it's not bad since they both do a great job. The movie doesn't really make any sense as to what the whole point is i Kinda interpretated it as an over religious father repremanding his kids negativitly for being themselves but them learning maybe some of what he says is right which is a common relatable message but it doesnt have any backstory really at all as to why they even have these powers and what the whole purpose of them is it's kinda left up to interpretation I guess. The dad's acting is kinda bad at times like corny in parts but not overall. Kind of a neat concept that doesn't really go anywhere or serve any purpose. The storyline occasionally veered into the realm of the absurd, which could be a bit jarring at times.At the end of the day, while it may not be a cinematic masterpiece, it's still worth a watch, if only to get another dose of Timothée Chalamet on screen. However, it's not the type of movie that I would find myself revisiting frequently. It's more suited for a one-time viewing, perhaps as background entertainment while doing chores like vacuuming or during a casual TV session. See more09/08/2017I love the style and feel of the film, along with great performances by the young leads, but halfway through, it just never answered any of the questions it seemed to rely on so heavily to move the film forward, and that cryptic teasing carrot leading me on became an annoying trick, just like at the greyhound racetrack. I like mysteries and things left unanswered, but if that's all you seem to have is unanswered questions, it loses its charm and appeal after awhile.
