Matt, a struggling executive, finds his world turned upside down when his estranged father's nurse shows up unexpectedly in his office. Matt's father, a famed bad-boy photojournalist, is facing terminal cancer and his dying wish is for Matt to join him on a road trip from New York to Kansas to process his last rolls of Kodachrome film before the sole remaining lab closes and those captured moments are gone forever.

Kodachrome isn't so much a "bad" film as it is a predictable one.

There's nothing wrong with Harris's performance, but the character is despicable in so many ways that you don't care much about his fate.

While Kodachrome is let down by its generic beats and the way it telegraphs much of its dialogue, it has a wistfulness that ends up being rather effective.

Kodachrome is something special. A road trip reconciliation movie about fractured relationships, that rests on the shoulders of an awesome ensemble cast, made up of Ed Harris Jason Sudeikis and Elizabeth Olsen.

Kodachrome is a story we’ve seen in some form or another plenty of times. Maybe these themes keep showing up for a reason. Maybe that’s okay. Maybe it can serve as a reminder to not wait until your dad is dying to say what you need to say.

Kodachrome tries to touch with an emotional father-son story and the theme of memory, but misses its target. The movie drags with an aimless narrative style and quickly loses tension. Despite a solid performance from Ed Harris and Jason Sudeikis, there is a lack of real depth and development. The plot often seems inconsequential and offers little to captivate the viewer or make them think. Overall, Kodachrome remains a boring, uninspiring film that fails to exploit the potential of its subject matter.

These days i rarely make it through a movie on Netflix because i either lose interest, or the movie is just bad, or takes a weird turn. Kodachrome held my interest and was very enjoyable. Harris, Sudeikis, and Olson all did an excellent job in this story of a fractured relationship between dad and son. And Olsen was really good as the caregiver, while also adding just the right amount of sexual tension. I think most people will find this worth watching.

An underrated film that despite the over used plot of family forgiveness, has a ton of heart. As a photographer its a backdrop that I loved.

The storyline was fairly predictable making this a light evening watch but then you are immediately taking notice of Ed Harris performance. Kudos to Ed on this one, the hospital scene was quite moving and I have mad respect for your craft!

C. The movie was very predictable (his romance with the nurse i predicted within the first minute she appears) too many clichés, but the last scene on the father's death was so well done it made it worthwhile to watch till the end.
