Covid-19 update: 1693 new cases, 28 further deaths

There were 1693 new cases of Covid-19 reported in New Zealand over the week to Sunday, and 28 further deaths attributed to the virus.
Of the new cases, 1058 were reinfections.
There were 102 cases in hospital and data on the number in intensive care was not provided.
The highest number of new cases were in Canterbury, followed by Waitematā.
The case numbers were 27 more than last week, when Te Whatu Orareported 1666 new cases and 26 further deaths were attributed to the virus.
