This document describes a scheme that allows an HTTP client tocommunicate its preferences for how the upstream server prioritizesresponses to its requests, and also allows a server to hint to adownstream intermediary how its responses should be prioritized whenthey are forwarded. This document defines the Priority header fieldfor communicating the initial priority in an HTTP version-independentmanner, as well as HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 frames for reprioritizingresponses. These share a common format structure that is designed toprovide future extensibility.
For the definition ofStatus,seeRFC 2026.
