The Controlling Multiple Streams for Telepresence (CLUE) protocol isan application protocol conceived for the description and negotiationof a telepresence session. The design of the CLUE protocol takesinto account the requirements and the framework defined within theIETF CLUE Working Group. A companion document, RFC 8848, delves intoCLUE signaling details as well as the SIP / Session DescriptionProtocol (SDP) session establishment phase. CLUE messages flow overthe CLUE data channel, based on reliable and ordered SCTP-over-DTLStransport. ("SCTP" stands for "Stream Control TransmissionProtocol".) Message details, together with the behavior of CLUEParticipants acting as Media Providers and/or Media Consumers, areherein discussed.
