Abstract

Segment Routing (SR) allows a flexible definition of end-to-end pathswithin IGP topologies by encoding paths as sequences of topologicalsubpaths called "segments". These segments are advertised by thelink-state routing protocols (IS-IS and OSPF).

This document describes the OSPFv3 extensions required for SegmentRouting with the MPLS data plane.

For the definition ofStatus,seeRFC 2026.
