This document describes two reference video traffic models forevaluating RTP congestion control algorithms. The first modelstatistically characterizes the behavior of a live video encoder inresponse to changing requests on the target video rate. The secondmodel is trace-driven and emulates the output of actual encoded videoframe sizes from a high-resolution test sequence. Both models aredesigned to strike a balance between simplicity, repeatability, andauthenticity in modeling the interactions between a live videotraffic source and the congestion control module. Finally, thedocument describes how both approaches can be combined into a hybridmodel.
