Abstract

This document presents use cases for diverse industries that have incommon a need for "deterministic flows". "Deterministic" in thiscontext means that such flows provide guaranteed bandwidth, boundedlatency, and other properties germane to the transport oftime-sensitive data. These use cases differ notably in their networktopologies and specific desired behavior, providing as a group broadindustry context for Deterministic Networking (DetNet). For each usecase, this document will identify the use case, identifyrepresentative solutions used today, and describe potentialimprovements that DetNet can enable.
